Article marketing - Google Loves Ezinearticles.com
When testing article marketing the first thing I did was to look into available free article directories online. There are tons of them, allowing users to publish/submit articles to their directory. Of all I tested Ezinearticles.com proved to be Google's own favorite.
I have now an article published on an online article directory, hopefully to drive some traffic and generate some leads. And though many aspects are to be considered in article marketing such as how popular your topic is, how well-written your article is etc, what I have discovered so far is the importance of choosing the right articles directory.
A couple on months ago, when I first published a post about article marketing, I wrote an article explaining how one should go about t telling someone you love her. Not the hottest topic perhaps but it opened the oportunity to directly promote some products like flowers, jewelry etc. I submitted the article to the directory GoArticles.com. Several weeks later I was not ranking at all in Google, except to the exact title within "".
Trying again I recently got an article submitted about what halloween mask to wear for the upcoming holiday, in the directory at EzineArticles.com. It took about 5 days for it to be approved, since Ezinearticles follow quite strict guidlines. GoArticles.com for example had no restrictions concerning links, whereas Ezinearticle.com only approves links if they fit well, are relevant and does not exceed the alowed maximum amount.
Apparently Ezinearticles.com is a powerful site and anything published there, topics to say that does not compete with too many other sites, is considered relevant by Google. Now I rank #1 for search terms:
- What masks to wear halloween
- masks to wear halloween 2008
and one first page SERP on a number of other short and long-tail keyword phrases such as halloween face masks.
I also have another article that I wrote to drive traffic to a personal blog, that now rank #1 on search phrase "What happened in 2008". Getting over 900 views in months only, that article will probably become my primary source of traffic in the future.
Bottom line, if you want to try article marketing, do so at Ezinearticles.com. They're Google's seemingly favorite online article directory at the moment.
