Hi All, I know that it's been a long time since I last wrote a blog post here at AffiliateTips.com. I have no good excuses, other than that I've been working hard at becoming the best possible affiliate that I can be. To be perfectly honest, I must say that I think that I've become quite the expert now.

My affiliate business is doing well and my monthly revenues are increasing steadily. When the economical crash came I have to admit that I was I bit worried that I would lose everything that I had worked so hard for. Thankfully, nothing ever happened. I don't know why, but people just kept on buying stuff on the Internet. To celebrate this, and learn more I decided to go to Stockholm, Sweden and SIME08 (Scandinavian Interactive Media Event).

I have to say that I was impressed with the event and it was also good fun checking out the capital of Sweden. A lot of interesting guest speakers were invited and among my favorites were Michael J. Wolf (former president MTV Networks and author - just to mention a small part of what his done), Joi Ito (CEO of Creative Commons and the Chairman of Six Apart Japan), Pelle Törnberg (CEO of Metro International - the world's largest international daily newspaper), Filip Hammar & Fredrik Wikingsson (Swedish comedians that are predicted to be the next US comedy stars by Sirius satellite radio) and Pontus Schultz (Chairman of the Sime Awards Jury and Editor in Chief of a Swedish newspaper).

Pontus Schultz talked about the current trends in the world and he said something very interesting. When the economical situation is as it is today people tend to look back rather than going forward. Instead of seeing opportunities, as we usually do, we see risks and problems. I for one am not going to be a coward - I will try to keep on seeing opportunities. At least that's what I'm saying now J. Who knows how the future will look. Another point that I will not forget came from the comedic duo of Filip & Fredrik. They said that humor always will sell and that there's no reason to not be funny. Even if you're running a funeral home you should try to incorporate humor on your web site (of course, in a respectful way...). People will always want to be entertained. We as affiliates are no exception - this probably goes more for us than any other "online business". I will immediately take a look at my affiliate sites and try to make them more fun. Ok, that's it for now and I hope to see you all at SIME in 2009!

Have a good week!
